Perident's Message

 

Kia Ora dear friends,


Well, our busy summer season has finished with some record hotel occupancies from around our respective hotels which is fantastic! With quieter times ahead this will give the opportunity to allow members to regroup and maybe enjoy a well deserved holiday or break.Meanwhile, the Hotel Concierge Society Les Clefs d’Or New Zealand will continue to have exciting events for the rest of this year.


In April 2010 our annual membership interviews were held at the Jet Park Hotel hosted by our Director of Membership Ms Bunny Spyve. I am pleased to announce that that our society has five new concierges who have been successful in their interview process, bringing our active membership to 27 members throughout New Zealand.


Please join me in welcoming and congratulating the following concierge to our society:


Ms. Roberta Bezzera - Chief Concierge, The Langham Hotel, Auckland
Mr. Pati Start - Concierge, Hilton Hotel, Auckland
Ms. Samantha Maciel Concierge, Hilton Hotel, Auckland
Mr. Ingmar Becker – Concierge, Intercontinental Hotel, Wellington,
Mr. Graham Miskell - Chief Concierge, Grand Chancellor Hotel, Christchurch.

This year we also elected a new Honourary Member, Mr. Ben Thornton, General Manager of Grayline New Zealand. Ben will be presented with his Honourary Diploma at the 16th AGM opening cocktails on June 4th 2010.

0ur society will have our 16th Annual General Meeting in Queenstown. from June 4th to 6th 2010. This will also be the introduction of the first HCSLCDNZ “Meet the Region” Hospitality trade show which will be a great chance for all members to network with each other and suppliers/tour operators and “Meet the Region”

As we continue the great tradition of hosting our friends from the Executive Committee members from Australia. This will also be a great opportunity for members to experience and explore Queenstown which will only enhance preparations for the UICH International Congress in 2013 hosted in Queenstown.

July the New Zealand Executive Committee will travel and join our Australian colleagues in Sydney for the Australian Annual General Meeting. This is always a great networking opportunity with our friends from across the ditch!!

September and October preparation has began for the annual HCSCDNZ Golf day and the 3rd Annual Ball which will be held on the 2nd of October 2010 venue TBC.

Everyday our Hotel Concierge Society Les Clefs d’Or New Zealand is striving to build stronger professional relationships with associates. This will ensure that all advice given to our hotel guests are of the highest quality and with a professional manner.
